Between Sky and Earth
27" x 51" ink on rice paper
Here I fall back to traditional Chinese painting to express a contemporary understanding of the universe.
Connected only by a narrow stretch of white, a large gloomy sky is hanging heavily over the earth,
which, composed with the sky, appears to be rather small; and even smaller is the little forest
in the bottom, a symbol of life. Thus, the life is being confronted with
the boundless universe, and they mutually include each other.
