Big Mountain

60" x 38" ink, golden colour on rice paper

This picture occurred to me when I was travelling in the north of Sichuan Province, CHINA.
The mountains there are desolate, the atmosphere of which is enhanced on cloudy days.
It is never depressing, though, but rather soothing. I tried to emphasize this peculiar
feeling of desolation mingled with consolation by adding blots of dark golden colour.
