Shine the Life of Flower in Watercolours

Live flowers are a particular challenge subject in most art media. Especially for the peony project here, it requires close observation and a careful gradation techniques.

As a symbol of queen in flowers world, peony carries many layers of petals, variety of forms and sense of textures. To paint flower like this includes a lot of reds which need our hand to evoke the fresh life of nature in watercolours.

I would like to demonstrate the way to capture a wide range of reds in peony and greens behind, both warm and cool, as well as the analysis of colour theory based on what we may learn from.
